I’m so excited to have this opportunity to get to know you. I have been part of the Church my entire life. I grew up in a pastor’s home and started my ministry at 18 as a junior high Sunday school teacher, eventually becoming the youth pastor. My dad always encouraged me to pursue what I felt God was calling me to do, even if it was not pastoring. I am proud to say I am a fourth generation pastor, and although I might have fought it at first, I have found that my call is to love God and serve His people. I believe that we are created to be worshipers of God through loving Him and loving others.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Life Pacific College in 2003, and became an ordained minister in 2005. I have 19 years of formal pastoral experience and a lifetime of experience walking through all the different facets of church life.
My wife, Michele, and I were married in December of 2004 and have two children, Daniel (9) and Isabel (8). Michele began her career as a high school English teacher in 2002, working with students acquiring English. She currently is serving as the director of English Learner Programs at Grossmont Union High School District. Her ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish has been an asset for her, both at work, as well as in her ministry.
Together, Michele and I are committed to being worshipers of God by loving Him first and loving and serving His people through worship, encouragement, and discipleship. Michele has led worship for the last ten years and loves to see lives changed through worship. Our marriage and friendship is important to us, and we value spending time together, playing music and enjoying great food.
We are excited to have the opportunity to live life and worship with you!
Kerie Muller as been the Children’s Director at Sweetwater Community
Kerie Muller as been the Children’s Director at Sweetwater Community Church since 2013. She first became familiar with Sweetwater at Bonitafest andher introduction to Sweetwater Kids Theater. After attending a SKT rehearsal with her 2 kids, Kaede and Kieler, they started coming to the church that following Sunday. That was over seven years ago. They are all actively involved with the church not only as a family, but individually as well. Her husband, Karl, plays drums on the worship team. Theater is near and dear to her heart so being able to combine theater with church has been a true blessing to her entire family. Kerie works for Sunnyside Elementary as well.
Joshua Ollier has been the Youth Director here at Sweetwater
Joshua Ollier has been the Youth Director here at Sweetwater since July 2016. Josh grew up in San Diego and went to Ocean View Christian Academy where during his senior year he felt called to youth ministry. He studied at Calvary Chapel Bible college in Murrieta and in Italy, before starting to work in the Jr. High at Shadow mountain as an intern. Josh is excited to be here and to see what God is doing in our youth ministry as he grows our group as well as the hearts of our students. His overall goal in being here is having a fun, open environment where we can turn young men and woman into Disciples of Christ, and grow a group of young powerful Christ followers who can go out and stand out for God.
